COTE TRAINING ACADEMY

We don't just build software.
We build the people who will build Africa's digital future.

Training has been at the centre of COTE Technologies since the day we started in 2021. From rural primary school pupils touching a keyboard for the first time, to graduate engineers shipping production code, to journalists learning responsible AI — our programmes meet learners exactly where they are and walk them forward.

FLAGSHIP COMMUNITY PROGRAMME

CLICK — Computer Literacy for Rural Children

CLICK (Computer Literacy Innovation for Children in Kyegegwa) is a 10-month, research-informed programme that takes structured, gamified computer literacy directly to rural primary school pupils. 240 P4–P7 children at Amon Mukalazi Memorial School go from never having touched a keyboard to confidently using a computer — through bi-weekly Friday sessions, holiday bootcamps and inter-school championships.

  • 16 bi-weekly Friday sessions across 3 academic terms
  • Three-tier model: Classroom · Master Bootcamp · Inter-School Championship
  • Gamified — students earn CLICK Points and compete for academic prizes
  • Pursuing DIT certification from Uganda's Ministry of Education
  • Delivered with Help for Kyegegwa e.V. (Germany), 50% female enrolment

HOW WE TEACH

A method, not a curriculum dump

The same principles run through every COTE programme — from CLICK to corporate workshops to engineering bootcamps.

Start where the learner is

Whether it's a P4 child or a senior engineer, we begin from the actual baseline — never from assumptions.

Build, don't just lecture

Every session ends with the learner having produced something — a typed document, a deployed feature, a working script.

Mentor, not just instruct

Cohorts are small enough that every learner is known by name and gets one-on-one support when stuck.

Measure what matters

Pre/post assessments feed into our digital tools, so progress is visible to learners, donors and partners alike.

Local context, global standards

Our materials use Ugandan examples, Ugandan languages where helpful, and global engineering standards.

Designed to be replicated

Every COTE programme is documented so it can be picked up and run elsewhere — including by other organisations.
